About the Work
As someone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and anorexia nervosa, this series is a personal and slightly commercial dive into the inner workings of my mind, reflecting on critical moments in my life. These digital illustrations and animated gifs are a satirical and artistic approach to my mental health and eating disorder history. While these illustrations seem editorial and approachable, many of them reflect darker times in my life. I never really shared these experiences through my artistic practices prior to this, making the image-making itself an exploration and a journey. Besides therapy, this part of my life feels like something I avoided and determined was over, but this artistic journey helped me realize there are still thoughts that rattle me and reflections of myself I still need to pursue.
